Duties

The Clerk is responsible for voter registration and conducting all local, State and Federal elections. The Clerk of Sylvan Township also serves as the Freedom of Information Act Coordinator, and collaborates with the sexton of Maple Grove Cemetery.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintain custody of all township records
  • Record and maintain Board of Trustees minutes
  • Keep the voter registration files
  • record and maintain Board of Trustees minutes
  • Keep the township book of oaths and ordinance book
  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements

Maple Grove Cemetery

For those interested in purchasing the rights of burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, or to make inquiries about purchases already made by your family, contact the Cemetery Sexton, Larry Doll at 734-260-1540 or email lddoll@gmail.com

A burial lot cost is $800.00 per lot and each lot can accommodate 1 full burial and/or 2 cremation burials.

Additional administration fees apply at the time of burial.
